The mooring turret, which connects to the floating unit, holds the unit at a fixed point allowing for 360° rotation in accordance with the direction of the sea currents and waves. Through the turret, the regasified LNG is transfered to the flexible risers which link the turret to the Pipeline End Manifold (PLEM). The PLEM is permanently founded on the seabed and is the intermediate configuration between the floating unit and the subsea natural gas transmission pipeline through which, the natural gas is transmitted to the onshore facilities.

The anchoring system of the mooring turret consists of eight suction anchors radically ordinated so that they can ensure stable and safe anchoring of the floating unit under all weather conditions.

The turret based mooring system of the floating unit is easily disconnected in the case of maintenance or emergeny.
