WHO WE ARE

Gastrade S.A. was founded in 2010 in Athens with a mission to design, develop and operate modern natural gas infrastructure with safety, reliability and respect for the environment and society.

We are the first company in Greece to obtain an Independent Natural Gas System License, underscoring our pioneering role in the country’s energy sector.

With a strategic focus on supply security, energy sources diversification and regional interconnectivity, we contribute to shaping a sustainable and resilient energy landscape for Greece and Southeastern Europe.

WHAT WE DO

Gastrade S.A. designed, developed and has been operating since October 2024 the Alexandroupolis Independent Natural Gas System (INGS), one of the most significant energy projects in Southeastern Europe. The project establishes Greece as a strategic energy hub serving more than nine countries.
It is recognized as a European Project of Common Interest (PCI – EU Regulation 347/2013), enhancing energy security and supply sources diversification, while contributing to a competitive and sustainable energy future for Greece and the wider region. Its implementation has been co-funded by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund under the Operational Programme “Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation” (NSRF 2014-2020), as well as the Operational Programme “Environment and Climate Change” (NSRF 2021-2027).

In parallel, we are advancing the development of the Thrace Independent Natural Gas System, further strengthening Greece’s role as a regional energy hub.
The Company also plays an active role in the European Vertical Gas Corridor initiative, which promoting the uninterrupted flow of natural gas from Greece to the markets of Southeastern and Central Europe, supporting energy stability, sustainable development and regional cooperation.
